Dr. David Craig is our Lead Pastor at Valley. He is passionate about studying and teaching the Bible and how it points to Jesus as our Savior and Lord over all of life. His responsibilities focus on preaching and teaching, leadership development, and making multiplying disciples in Marin and beyond.
David grew up in Huntington Beach and was raised by strong Christian parents who immigrated from Argentina. He was called by the Lord to serve Him full time as a junior in high school and subsequently studied for the pastoral ministry at Multnomah University (B.S. -1988); Talbot School of Theology (M.Div. - 1991) and Westminster Seminary and Northwest Graduate School (D. Min - 2003). He has served as a Youth Pastor, and Lead Pastor in California, Oregon, and Washington State. He has ministered in over 20 countries including Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Columbia, Cuba, England, India, Israel, Spain and Uruguay.
David met his wife Dana while doing youth ministry in Southern California. They have been happily married since April 4, 1992 and have raised five children and have five grandchildren scattered all over the United States.
In his free time David loves to read theology (especially R.C. Sproul), listen to music (jazz, classical, and 70’s and 80’s pop/rock), eat good food (especially Mexican and Italian) hike, travel (especially to Hawaii), enjoys movies (action, mysteries, and comedies) play golf and tennis, and watch his beloved Los Angeles Dodgers (sorry Giants fans). He especially enjoys spending time with his beloved wife, children and grand children. He also ministers to over 20,000 Disciples of Jesus a month by providing Christ-centered resources through his blog.
David and Dana love to share the gospel through natural hospitality. He especially has a heart for people with cancer as he is a stage three cancer survivor. For Pastor David there is nothing more exciting than leading unchurched people to faith in Christ and then grounding them in a Christian world view based on the Scriptures. Our vision for Valley is to see our people encounter Christ, and commit their lives to Him as Savior and Lord in all of life - to be transformed by the Gospel and then to disciple and mentor others in living for Jesus.
